Publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and developer Avalanche Software have announced that Hogwarts Legacy has been delayed on Switch and will not release on November 14.
Previously scheduled to release on June 25, a Tweet confirmed that the Switch version of the wizard RPG will now launch nine months after the game hit PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (February 10). The Tweet is light on an explanation for the delay, but it does state that “creating the best possible experience is our top priority,” so the team needing more development time to port that game to the portable console is almost certainly the reason.
Hogwarts Legacy launches on Nintendo Switch on 11/14/23. We know fans are looking forward to playing on Switch, therefore creating the best possible experience is our top priority. Thank you for your patience.

In our review, we said that “Hogwarts Legacy is the most definitively accurate and exciting wizarding world adventure people could hope to experience, short of getting a real-life invitation to Hogwarts. With hours of content and a wealth of wizarding wonderment, you’d be hard-pressed not to enjoy yourself to an impressive capacity.” We gave the game a 9.
