As a part of IGN First, Crytek has announced that Hunt: Showdown, their upcoming PvP with PvE elements first-person shooter will be heading to Steam as an Early Access title.
We believe strongly that community-driven development is crucial to creating a great online multiplayer experience. An Early Access release will allow us to get Hunt out to players as quickly as possible, to collect feedback, and to work closely with the community to continue to shape the direction of the game.

Creative Director Magnus Larbrant revealed what players can expect from the Early Access: “We will be adding more gear, more monsters, more Hunters, more game modes, more traits, crafting, and further map variations throughout Early Access. We want to take the time to make Hunt the game we’ve always wanted to play.”
We spoke with the German development team back in August where they alluded to a possible Early Access release, along with dropping the free-to-play aspect and more.
