With the release of Space Jam: A New Legacy fast approaching, Xbox has partnered with Warner Bros. in announcing Space Jam: A New Legacy The Game. This arcadey side-scrolling beat ’em up is the product of a competition that was run last December that allowed fans to vote on what the tie-in game should be.
A New Legacy The Game will have players taking control of LeBron, Bugs and Lola Bunny as they fight against the evil Goon Squad. The game will release on Xbox on July 1 and, initially, it’ll only be available to those with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate as a part of the Ultimate Perks program. On July 15, the game will become free to play for all Xbox users via the Microsoft Store. Here’s a look at the announcement trailer for Space Jam: A New Legacy The Game:
That’s not all of the Space Jam news either. Three themed Xbox Series controllers were also announced alongside the new game. Each controller is inspired by a different aspect from the upcoming film.
- Tune Squad: Become a member of the Squad and channel your inner Tune with this awesome controller, featuring one of Bug Bunny’s favourite colours – Carrot Orange.
- Goon Squad: If you’re feeling like a super cyber-baller, pick up the Goon Squad controller, but prepare to face the Tunes on the court.
- Serververse: Step into the Warner 3000 entertainment “Serververse” with this new out-of-this-world controller.
Before you start picking favourites, it’s important to note that Australia is only receiving one, but luckily it’s the main player. The Tune Squad controller will be releasing on June 9 and will set you back AU$99.95. Preorders are live now through EB Games and JB Hi-Fi.
