Square Enix has today announced Kingdom Hearts IV during today’s 20th anniversary event for the popular series.
The trailer, which starts about halfway into the seven-minute anniversary video, shows off a more realistic visual style than the series’ previous entries and appears to be set in Quadratum. Despite having what looks like a grittier tone, the series’ charm is still there in spades. No platforms or release information was revealed – it’s likely that the game is still a ways off yet.
Kingdom Hearts IV wasn’t the only announcement the series got, with Square Enix also revealing Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link, a new mobile game that will have a closed beta this year. Furthermore, it was confirmed that mobile game Kingdom Hearts Dark Road will now launch in August 2022, a short delay from its initial June 2022 date.
