Amongst all the big name Indie releases of the year, Neon White has stood out as a showstopper, as our own review can attest, a first person puzzler that has you burning cards to use special abilities, scaling various maps at high speed to clear out enemies and reach the end goal in quick time.
I recently got the chance to sit down with developer Ben Esposito, the mind behind Neon White and another personal favourite of mine in Donut County, to chat about how the card based shooter came to be, from general concept to its banging musical score, and how things have been since the game launched to a positive reception earlier this year.
Have you played Neon White? Are you a big Donut County fan? Shout out in the comments below, on the YouTube vid comments or on our socials, we’d love to hear from you.
Known on the internet as Kartanym, Mark has been in and out of the gaming scene since what feels like forever, growing up on Nintendo and evolving through the advent of PC first person shooters, PlayStation and virtual reality. He'll try anything at least once and considers himself the one true king of Tetris by politely ignoring the world records.
