I love comic book heroes, I love video games and I love when those two worlds collide and result in something brilliant. Marvel’s Spider-Man is a great example of a quality comic book game that had satisfying web-swinging, fun combat and a well-written story (we gave it an 8.8). Insomniac nailed it, leaving many of us wanting another Spidey game (thankfully we’re getting Miles Morales), but also more games that involve Marvel’s impressive pantheon of people protectors.
Ask and you shall receive it seems, as Crystal Dynamics is taking on the big guns with their title Marvel’s Avengers. Announced all the way back in 2017, we’ve seen a variety of trailers and gameplay trailers now, but there’s plenty more to be shown off.
Last month (June 24) we got a look at new Thor gameplay, a sneak peek at the game’s core villain M.O.D.O.K and an overview of the War Zone co-op missions as a part of the War Table stream. With heaps more to see, we’ll soon be taking a seat at the War Table once more, as a second instalment will be coming on July 30 at 3am AEST.
This War Table will primarily be delving into the game’s beta program. Square Enix has announced a number of beta dates across PS4, Xbox One and PC:
- August 7-9 for PS4 players who have preordered the game
- August 14-16 for all PS4 players
- August 14-16 for Xbox One and PC players who have preordered the game
- August 21-23 for all PS4, Xbox One and PC players
We’ll have to wait for the upcoming War Table stream to see what exactly we’ll be able to play during this beta, but I for one am keen to get my hands on the game regardless. If you haven’t watched the first War Table already, here it is:
ARVE Error: Mode: lazyload not available (ARVE Pro not active?), switching to normal mode
Are you excited to play as Earth’s Mightiest Heroes? Will you be playing the beta this August? Let us know.
