Multiple Events And New Island Visitors Announced For Animal Crossing: New Horizons

The more the merrier

Over the last couple of days dataminers have found evidence that more content was coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and in their Direct Mini Nintendo previously mentioned that a free update would be coming to coincide with Earth Day (April 22). Nintendo has put us out of our misery and into pure joy by stealth dropping a new short trailer detailing many new features and new NPC’s that are coming to the immensely popular game.

In a free update on April 23, new island visitors will start arriving on your island. Firstly, Leif with his garden shop is returning and will sell and add bushes into the game (originally added in New Leaf). We also see new hedge-like fences but it is unclear how they are unlocked, I suspect potentially through a DIY recipe. Secondly, Jolly Redd, formerly Crazy Redd, will also visit your island via his Treasure Trawler at your Secret Beach to sell art as well as items from his new floating shop.

Connected to the addition of Redd, the Museum will also expand to have a new art wing, containing both statues and paintings. We do not know if Redd still sells fakes at this point in time, so be careful for now.

Upcoming events between April and June were also announced:

  • Nature Day (April 23 – May 4) – Nook Miles+ members get special tasks to complete for bonus Nook miles.
  • May Day (May 1 – May 7) – Special tickets take you to limited time May Day island tours!
  • International Museum Day (May 18 – May 31) – Collect stamps to earn rewards.
  • Wedding Season (June 1 – June 30) – Help Reece and Cyrus take the perfect wedding photo.

Check out the trailer below and take in all the new details:
