Open-world survival games offering a pretty unique experience for players – staving off the terrifying forces of dinosaurs, zombies and even other players come to mind. So why not try and survive against the machines?
Publisher Nacon has unveiled just that; a new Terminator game that tasks you with trying to survive the world as it appear post-Judgment Day – but before the scrappy human Resistance was established.
In short? post nuclear holocaust, pre-human militia.
It’s actually quite a unique time period option for the Terminator series – most instances of the narrative either involve time-travel shenanigans or a close look at the ongoing war between the Human Resistance and the mechanical forces of Skynet. Seeing how the human race scurried forth after the machines dropped the bombs could be quite interesting – if implemented in the right way.
Right now the only release details that have been mentioned include that the game will be coming to ‘unspecified consoles and PC’ and some point ‘in the distance future’ – so hopefully we don’t need to wait for Judgment Day itself to get some T-800 dodge practice in.
