LEGO 2k Drive is a fantastic time – a hefty portion of that fun factor coming from the incredible bricks that make up its subject matter. And that subject matter has a treat for any that wish to extend their gameplay experience into the real world – with official LEGO 2k Drive sets!
This range of multipacks show off some awesome vehicles that cater to the surfaces types within the game – with street racers, boats and off-road monsters that all come with a cool gimmick that lets you mix and match part types via the claw connectors!
I personally love the detail that the street racer set comes with the actual boosters that deploy in game when you hit your nitro – they are iconic.
All the sets are available to view on the LEGO website now, with a ‘Coming Soon’ label that mentions August 1:
Interestingly, the details and contents information on the website makes no mention of any redemption code to perhaps own the vehicles within LEGO 2K Drive, even though the box does have a special graphic saying ‘PLAY IT IN: LEGO 2K DRIVE’. This could simply mean that their intention for you to ‘play it’ in game is if you were to replicate the vehicle in it’s entirety – which is arguably very possible.
This could change once the actual release comes, but it does serve as a curiously missed opportunity if such a thing did not come to pass.
