Developer Owl Machine has announced that its combat-free bullet-hell title Key Fairy will release on PC on February 19, 2026.
A new trailer for the monochromatic movement-based action game debuted during this morning’s Frosty Games Mini showcase, which was capped off with the game’s imminent release date. While the bullet-hell genre is known for ultraviolence and visceral action, Key Fairy bucks that trend with a peaceful approach to engagements. Rather than blasting waves of enemies, players control the titular fairy as it uses a grappling hook to swing around various environments and pacify enraged creatures by collecting stars that orbit them.
I previewed Key Fairy during PAX Aus 2025, and I came away from my hands-on time eagerly awaiting more. Owl Machine’s unique take on the bullet-hell genre is interesting, and the art style Key Fairy employs is worth getting your peepers around for yourself, so take a look at the trailer below. If you’re keen to hear more of my thoughts, head on over to my full preview and even swing by the game’s Steam page to play a free demo before launch.
