Payday 3 Developer Confirms Crossplay, Pricing And DLC Plans

New details emerge

The long-awaited Payday 3 from Starbreeze Studios and Deep Silver got a gameplay showing and release date at Summer Games Fest. Since then the game’s developer has taken to Steam to confirm details surrounding crossplay, pricing and DLC plans for the upcoming heist game.

In an FAQ post on Payday 3’s Steam Discussion page, a Starbreeze representative confirmed that Payday 3 will support crossplay as well as cross-progression on all platforms. Regarding the game’s DLC, it was stated that Payday 3 will be similar to Payday 2, with two different season passes. The Gold season pass will include one year of DLC – four heists, tailor packs and weapon packs, while the Silver season pass will give access to six months of DLC – two heists, tailor packs and weapon packs. According to the post, each DLC will be available for purchase separately.

When it comes to buying the game, Australian digital pricing has been revealed, with the Standard Edition costing $59.95, the Silver Edition priced at $104.95 on PC and $109.95 on consoles, and the Gold Edition $134.95 on PC and $145.95 on consoles.

Other worthy information from the FAQ includes that Payday 3 will include microtransactions, however, these will be limited to cosmetic items, Payday 3 is being made in Unreal Engine 4 with the team hopeful of moving across to UE5 eventually, and Gustavo Coutinho is the game’s composer.

Payday 3 will release on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) on September 21, 2023.
