Pricing For The Expanded Nintendo Switch Online Subscription Has Been Revealed

Too pricey or fair enough?

Nintendo has announced the pricing for the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass, the newly revealed membership tier that gives players access to a library of Sega Mega Drive and Nintendo 64 titles that launches on October 26.

This new subscription tier will cost AU$59.95 for 12 months or AU$109.95 for the Family Membership. This is a pretty big jump considering the current Switch Online Membership, which already includes access to a list of retro games, is priced at AU$29.95 (AU$59.95 for Family Membership).

Don’t light your torches and sharpen your pitchforks just yet though. The Animal Crossing: New Horizons Happy Home Parade DLC that was announced during this morning’s Direct will be included in the cost of this new tier. This DLC alone is priced at AU$37.50, so Animal Crossing fans will likely see the value.

What do you think about this new subscription tier? Does the new content justify the price for you? Let us know in the comments or on our social media.
