Repella Fella Is A Choose Your Own Adventure Game Set In Australia

Check this out, mate

If you’ve ever said “There should be more games set in Australia,” then Repella Fella is a game you should have on your radar.

Repella Fella is a choose your own adventure game set in a future, post-apocalyptic Australia. It’s being developed by Sydney-based developer Misadventurous Games, which is currently the solo act of a person named Phill (no last name provided), whose previous works include the popular Flash game Ray.

Repella Fella’s Steam page gives us this synopsis of the premise:

Set in a future, post-apocalyptic Australia, Repella Fella tells the story of several characters as they work towards a better life. Shoot, stab, lie and maim your way through any problem that presents itself.

A Kickstarter is currently running for the game, with the project hoping to raise $7500 in funding by January 7, 2022.  It currently has $1050 in pledges at the time of writing. However, Misadventurous Games says that development of the game will continue regardless of the outcome of the Kickstarter.

Phill, on Misadventurous Games’ blog, goes into detail about how the game came to be. It’s an interesting (and dark) read, with Phill revealing that he quit his job to work on the game.

If this all sounds up your alley, take a gander at the game’s trailer below, which features a rendition of Waltzing Matilda by Phill’s brother-in-law’s band.
