Retail Editions Of Beyond A Steel Sky Delayed Due To Logistic Issues

Go digital or wait for physical

Beyond a Steel Sky, the latest game from Broken Sword creator Charles Cecil and Revolution Software, and the follow up to 1994’s Beneath a Steel Sky launched today on PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo digital storefronts. However, if you prefer to go physical with your game purchases, you may have been wondering where the retail version is.

Turns out that worldwide logistics issues have caused all retail versions of the game to be delayed, with the Australian release now set for December 17, the game’s console publisher Microids announced. Australia isn’t the only country affected, with both the UK and the US suffering from delays, while other regions have seen a slight delay to the Nintendo Switch version.

Beyond a Steel Sky originally launched on PC in July last year but is only now coming to consoles. I’m currently playing through the game for our review and hope to have it live by the end of the week.

If you’re holding off until the retail versions lands but want to know more, below is a video of Charles Cecil talking about the game’s lore:

Beyond a Steel Sky is out now on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via digital storefronts, while retail versions (excluding PC) will be available on December 17.
