RØDE Launching Next Generation NT-USB+ Microphone

The super popular RØDE microphone gets an update

Australian microphone and sound tech heavyweight RØDE has announced an update to its popular NT-USB Microphone – the NT-USB+. The newest addition to the RØDE lineup comes nearly a decade after the launch of the original device. It packs cool new features without sacrificing the adaptability and quality that made the first such a success. This studio-grade condenser microphone is a compact and highly useable bit of tech that looks to make premium audio an accessible option for creators while delivering a legacy-worthy update to the original model.

Building on the 2014 design, the NT-USB+ is retaining the popular form factor while reworking the internals to deliver an updated and modern sound. Produced right here in Sydney too, the NT-USB+ aims to be the go-to microphone for streamers and podcasters alike, prioritising voice recording and broadcast through the unit’s studio-quality condenser capsule. This is in turn backed up by a whole host of RØDE staples such as its Revolution Preamp technology and an updated 24-bit/48kHz analog-to-digital conversion for fantastic audio quality. The NT-USB+ has also shifted to a universal USB-C connection method, meaning you can hook this thing up to your PC and smart device with ease.

The NT-USB+ is also rocking internal DSP so you can link it with RØDE’s Central and Connect applications on PC and mobile for enhanced audio processing. Along with a high pass filter and noise gate, these apps will also let you run your voice through Aural Exciter and Big Bottom, effectively smoothing out and bolstering your tones with warmth and depth. Pure capabilities aside, the unit is also remarkably compact and gorgeously designed, easily fitting into your workspace via the three-pronged stand or attaching to your desk mount or boom arm.

“The original NT-USB was an instant success when it launched almost a decade ago, setting a lofty standard for studio-quality USB microphones,” said RØDE CEO Damien Wilson. “With the NT-USB+, we are setting a new standard…”. We’ve already gone hands-on with the microphone and are currently putting it through its paces but it’s safe to say we can see why RØDE are so keen to launch this one. The NT-USB+ will retail for $299 AUD. For more details, you can head over to the RØDE website right here.
