Rumour: You May Be Able To Change Your PSN Name Soon, But Not Without A Caveat

One feature that the PlayStation Networking has always been lacking was the ability to change your username. It’s something that Microsoft and even Nintendo allow their users to do on their respective online services. Sony acknowledged this back in 2017 at PSX, with Shawn Layden (PlayStation’s boss) hinting that the ability to change your name could be on its way. Since then we have heard nothing, until now.

Rumours have begun to surface, detailing major updates to PSN that include the ability to change your username. Not all is good news, however. Twitter user, Tidux, has stated that a PSN name change option is almost here. Unfortunately, it also comes with the news that you may have to sacrifice all that hard work you put into the profile beforehand.

Whilst nothing is confirmed yet, it would be terrible if this was the caveat to changing your username on Sony’s online gaming platform. If this was the case, you might as well just make a new account.
