The launch of Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 on PS5 has been delayed until later in the year, the game’s developer and publisher CI Games announced overnight. The launch of the PS4, Xbox Series X &S, Xbox One and PC versions on June 4 are unaffected.
In a statement posted to social media, the Polish studio said that the delay was a result of “unforeseen technical issues discovered in the weeks leading up to launch.”

CI Games Executive Producer Tobias Heussner says that players who purchase the PS4 version of SGWC2 will receive a free upgrade to the PS5 version.
“We would like to assure our players that our highly experienced, professional and dedicated team are working hard with the platform holder and engine provider to resolve the problems as soon as feasibly possible, to ensure we can bring the PS5 community the high calibre sniping game they have been waiting for.”
Furthermore, CI Games revealed that as a gesture of goodwill the game’s first DLC (a new and extensive map complete with brand new contracts) will be free for all players. It is currently in development with more information coming soon.
