Sonic Frontiers is celebrating everyone’s favourite hedgehog speedster in true Sonic style, with a massive title update dropping everything from a New Game Plus mode to fun party decorations.
But the real gift is the return of the iconic Spin Dash, making it’s way rightfully back into Sonic’s repertoire:
The full blurb from SEGA gives an overview of what to expect:
Join the party with the new “Sonic’s Birthday Bash” Update, featuring new challenges, moves, a new collectable Koco, and free birthday decorations. Available today, starting at 5:00 p.m. PST, the free update also introduces New Game Plus, a feature that allows players to start the game over from the beginning with their skill tree and power-up levels inherited.
And the best past part? Like other Sonic Frontiers updates, this bad boy is entirely free of charge. That’s right, no cost of entry to celebrate the birthday of the iconic blue badnik basher. I personally am super keen to jump into New Game Plus mode and see how badly I can clown on some of those more frustrating enemies with my entire arsenal ready to go.
And what kind of mischief can I get up to with the return of Spin Dash, I wonder?
The “Birthday Bash” update for Sonic Frontiers will become available today across all platform.
