It’s an odd timeline we live in, when Sonic The Hedgehog not only has one successful film under his non-existent belt – but a successful sequel also.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 premiered in theatres last year and apparently grossed a tidy $400,000,000 worldwide – debuting at #1 in 47 markets including the United Kingdom, France, and Australia
It’s now snapped up a healthy title as “Best Movie” from Nickelodeon’s 2023 Kids’ Choice Awards.

The competition was fierce, going up against both Avatar: The Way of Water and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever – and slightly less fierce with the dud entry of Jurassic World Dominion (A film I still struggle to remember).
This means that the Sonic sequel is now a winner for both “Best Family Movie” and “Best Movie” over two award shows so far – will an Oscar nomination for Most Outstanding Hedgehog-Based Narrative be next?
Maybe we’ll find out when the third Sonic film hits theatres in December of 2024.
