Warhammer Skulls Fest 2026 has come and gone with a slew of Warhammer video game news, but apparently one tasty morsel managed to escape that showcase and instead reveal itself over at the Focus Community forums.
That being the May Community Update for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, and the downright exciting news that another class will come to the game in 2027.
Year 3 of #SpaceMarine2 will bring new missions, weapons and a brand-new class 👀

You don’t even need to read deep into the update post, this isn’t a big secretive Easter Egg asking for a hunt – they drop it right under the first major heading “Teasing Year 3″:
Now for our first spoiler: a new Class is on the way, planned for the first half of 2027! We can’t reveal which one just yet, but we can say it’s been highly requested by the community. As we did with the Techmarine, this new Class will receive its own special Champion Skin after its release.
For Warhammer 40k aficionados, there is a very short list of possible faces that could be considered – including:
- Apothecary (A Medic-type unit)
- Chaplain (A Warrior-Priest kinda bloke)
- Judiciar (Big two handed sword guy)
…but really, Saber could surprise us with something off the wall. From a gameplay perspective, the idea of having a medic-based playstyle excites the hell out of me – but I will be the first to say that it would be a balancing nightmare. They did say that the class coming is a highly requested one, even going so far to as it was a top 3 most requested class. That should narrow it down to one of the above, surely.
The rest of the post goes into deep detail on the recent Purgation update, which was covered in the Warhammer Skulls Fest 2026 showcase, so it is a little less electrifying.
What about you? Do you have any idea what the new class could be? Tell us all about it in the comments or on our social media.
