Square Enix Just Filed Another New Trademark For Parasite Eve

A parasite for sore eyes

This week in news-that-probably-doesn’t-mean-as-much-as-we-wish-it-did, it seems that Square Enix have filed a new trademark in the UK for Parasite Eve, as reported by Siliconera. This follows a similar trademark filing for the name a few months ago in November 2018 in Europe.

While it’s easy and fun to speculate that this might possibly have something to do with a revival of (then) Squaresoft’s classic horror RPG in the form of a remaster/remake or sequel, it’s far more likely that it precedes a digital release of the original PSX version for the PS4 or mobile platforms. This seems increasingly likely when you consider that the first game never got a wider European release originally.

If the gaming gods did bless us with a modern Parasite Eve game, what would you like to see? A simple HD port, a ground-up remake ala Resident Evil 2 or a proper sequel?
