Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has released to some very solid reviews (we gave it a 9) but people trying to enjoy the experience on their high-end PC have found themselves experiencing some mystifying performance issues.
Bad framerates abound, even for those running bleeding edge hardware (such as GeForce 4090 cards) and even with aggressive tweaking they just can’t get the game to consistently perform as it should be expected to. This has of course resulted in a falling Metacritic score for the PC version (it originally was on 86, and has started trickling downwards).
Respawn has been quick to issue a very pointed statement, specifically mentioning that the game is not behaving as expected on high-end GPU’s or Windows 10:

As always, they mention that the team is working on fixes as we speak, so it comes down to a matter of waiting. Some people are looking to the inclusion of Denuvo as the usual suspect for a game suffering on PC, but others do mention that there are performance issues on console versions as well, with quite a few voicing concerns of frame tearing on the PlayStation 5.
While there is no doubt the issues will be addressed and fixed, it still comes as a point of frustration for PC users that have been getting a bum rap with releases this year – particularly in the wake of the The Last Of Us Part I’s release on PC.
