SteelSeries Announces The Arctis Nova Midrange Family

These won’t cost a nu-gen console

Big news coming out from SteelSeries, on the back of their hugely popular Arctis Nova Pro release, is that their successor to the numbered Arctis range is incoming.

The first significant upgrade to the SteelSeries midrange headsets in the past four years is going to see the launch of the Arctis Nova 7, 3, and 1. All three new members of the Arctis Nova family will feature what SteelSeries is calling “Almighty Audio”. Regardless of price point, each headset will feature specialised audio drivers that boast 360 degree spatial audio.

Whether a casual gamer or frequency freak, these headsets will be adjustable for all types courtesy of the much-lauded Sonar Audio Software Suite that came with the Arctis Nova Pro. This software is tailored to provide fine-tuned performance profiles that will maximise your entertainment. Whether seeking high-fidelity spacial awareness to get the upper hand in a first-person shooter, or to create an immersive soundscape for a peak cinematic experience, this suite is set to push the limits of the new Arctis Nova range out of the box.

The Arctis Nova 7 will retail at $399 and has the benefit of simultaneous wireless audio streams to switch between phone and console, 38-hour battery life, and AirWeave Memory Foam cushions for maximum comfort. The Arctis 7 will be available in PC, PlayStation, and Xbox-specific models.

Sitting in the middle of the pack is the Arctis Nova 3. Launching at half the price of the Nova 7, this $199 headset glows with stylish RGB cups with programable lighting and USB-C compatibility.

Last but not least, the entry-level Arctis Nova 1 will be $139 and is built on the same adjustable ComfortMax chassis as its siblings and comes with all the essentials. A broadcast-quality noise-cancelling mic and 3.5mm jack will ensure this headset is virtually compatible with all audio devices in the home. The Arctis Nova 1 will have the option of a black or white build, as well as PC, PlayStation, and Xbox-specific models.

While I cannot justify the audiophile dream of owning an Arctis Nova Pro, the new Arctis Nova series coming to market is too attractive a proposition to pass up. These headsets are available now at steelseries.com and will be in retailers imminently.

Will you be upgrading to any of the three more generously-priced new models? Let us know in the comments or on social media.
