Besides Christmas, I love summer events in games. Because I live in the frigid wastes of Tasmania, I am often in the chilliest time of year when games deploy a cornucopia of warm, sunny vistas for me to enjoy.
And each year, Overwatch does not disappoint. Overwatch 2 has rolled out its Summer Games event – and I can already feel the sand between my toes.
Have fun in the sun and earn rewards at the same time ☀️

Every year we get to enjoy the chaotic fun of Lúcioball – but a new sporty offering has appeared this year, with a Winston Volleyball game mode joining the roster. I’d go into detail, but it’s literally volleyball – I am not sure what more needs to be said.
There is also a slew of challenges and freebie exp to gobble up by completing them – providing a monstrous boost to your Battle Pass – but the real reward is not just the friends we made along the way, but a summer-y Doomfist skin that is charmingly dorky. Seriously, shades and a straw trilby? My guy is ready to dominate the pool.
Jump in game and enjoy the sandy festivities while you can – if it can warm my bones, I am sure it can bring a smile to your dial.
