With just weeks to go until launch, Supermassive Games has decided to hold back on the planned online multiplayer mode for its upcoming horror title, The Quarry.
Citing the need to deliver the best possible experience, the studio will instead focus on putting the finishing touches to the single player campaign and a host of local co-op modes when it hits online store and retail in June, with the online portion held back roughly a month after release on July 8th.

The Quarry is shaping up to be a solid horror experience for fans of Until Dawn and Supermassive’s ongoing The Dark Pictures Anthology series. Our recent preview time with the game left us with some positive vibes that the team are going to deliver another terrifying yet enjoyable experience. Though any kind of delay is always welcome to ensure the best results, at least we’re not waiting for the full game instead while online players won’t have to wait too long before they can join the fun.
We’ll soon find out the results when The Quarry launches on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC on June 10.
