Switch-Exclusive Deadly Premonition 2 Gets Release Date, New Trailer

Announced last year, the fact that a game like Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise is even happening still blows my mind. The original became something of a cult classic when it released a decade ago to wildly mixed reviews, like this 10/10 from Destructoid and this 2/10 from IGN.

An honest-to-God sequel to one of last-generation’s weirdest games and helmed again by revered Japanese developer Swery65, Deadly Premonition 2 finally has a solid release date alongside a slick new trailer that shows off the game’s spy thriller-inspired credit sequence.

That date isn’t far off, either, with the game releasing this July 10th.

Check out the trailer for yourself below and if you’re interested, a re-release of the original titled Deadly Premonition Origins is also available on the Nintendo Switch eShop!

Kieron started gaming on the SEGA Master System, with Sonic the Hedgehog, Alex Kidd and Wonder Boy. The 20-odd years of his life since have not seen his love for platformers falter even slightly. A separate love affair, this time with JRPGs, developed soon after being introduced to Final Fantasy VIII (ie, the best in the series). Further romantic subplots soon blossomed with quirky Japanese games, the occasional flashy AAA action adventure, and an unhealthy number of indie gems. To say that Kieron lies at the center of a tangled, labyrinthine web of sexy video game love would be an understatement.
