News hasn’t been too crash hot for the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake. We initially heard that the studio in charge of the remake, Aspyr Media, had some abrupt staff changes that ended up with the title put on indefinite delay – before the entire project was shunted off to Saber Interactive.
Things have been reasonably quiet on the front, before an investor Q&A with parent company Embracer Group brushed off a question around the status of the KOTOR Remake; stating that there was no update at this time – prompting many to panic.

However, the public Earnings Report for Embracer was a little more positive, clearly listing the remake as part of its ‘active-development’ projects – alongside more public titles such as Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 and Tomb Raider.
This at least offers some good news to all those waiting for something more formal – an absence from this list would all but confirm that the project has been left to wither on the vine, but perhaps a happy ending can still manifest.
