Even though the Gundam Wing collaboration still feels hot out of the oven, Overwatch 2 is welcoming a NEW CHALLENGER!
Street Fighter 6 is coming to the game, for no other reason than it would be neat to see some iconic street fighters shooting at each other for a change – and the delightful news comes by way of a neato animated trailer:
The collaboration is positively stacked too – with a massive 8 character skins coming to the game, including:
- Ryu (Hanzo)
- Chun-Li (Juno)
- Cammy (Widowmaker)
- Juri (Kiriko)
- Guile (Soldier: 76)
- M. Bison (Sigma)
- Blanka (Winston)
- Dhalsim (Zenyatta)
Things like Winston as Blanka and Sigma donning the garb of M. Bison (Yes! Yeesss!) make a shed load of sense, but it seems odd that Cammy’s garb is being thrown at the French sniper lady when the chipper Brit Tracer is right there. I mean, it might be a stylistic choice – but I thought that was a no-brainer.
Of course the battle for ‘who is more popular’ rages on with both Juno and Kiriko picking up some monstrously cool new skins. I hope that Kiriko gets a lollipop emote to really sell the bratty vibe.
As for a match made in heaven, Hanzo makes an excellent Ryu:
The full collaboration will hit the game on May 20, so it will be interesting to see what all the in-game models look like – though I will be hoping for some killer emotes to really bring it home.
