The Biggest Aussie Dota 2 Tournament Is Dropping In December

The legends over @ Convictus Esports Group have been busy getting something big ready for the Oceanic Dota 2 scene.

The Melbourne startup has a goal to develop Australian esports through hosting large scale tournaments and community events. The founders come from a background of the mighty ZEN Gaming Lounge (Melbourne’s ultimate LAN), Evolution Events (Creators of Australia’s best music events) and Blackshatan (Aussie Dota 2 legend). Together as an organisation they are the pieces of a puzzle that have the ability to create truly unique and electrifying esports experiences for the Oceania region.

The first major event from Convictus, the Melbourne Dota 2 Pro Series – will be a juicy $50,000 AUD prize pool tournament sequenced across a series of online qualifiers, group stages and finally a two-day major event held at a world class venue where eight teams will compete for Oceania’s largest Dota 2 tournament.

There will be three online qualifiers held to qualify six teams from South-East Asia, China and Oceania. Each region will qualify the top two teams, and each successful team will receive invitations to compete at the main event. For teams, flights and 5-star accommodation will be provided to cater for a truly professional and region leading tournament for players. Two additional international teams will be invited to complete the eight team tournament. The event itself will be charged with thrilling production and electrifying experiences that will be sure to keep the audience engaged. You can signup, as well as purchase tickets for the event here.

With supplementary activities including a cosplay competition, on-site gaming experiences and an esports market place, the inaugural event will be one to remember when it drops in Melbourne Australia this December.

Where?

The two day main event will be held at Plenary, Melbourne Convention Exhibition Centre. Plenary is an architectural marvel that combines world renowned design with dynamic sound and lighting to enable world leading events and exhibitions.
