The Dead Space Remake Has A Fantastic Nautical Easter Egg

There once was a ship from the CEC, the Ishimura USG…

I am a fan of Easter Eggs in games, it feels like a surefire way to know that the people making it are having a good time.

So consider me delighted when I came across this fun little discovery that people made when piecing together some odd codes that appeared throughout the game. The payoff? A Dead Space themed version of the Wellerman sea shanty that saw a surge in popularity on social media not long ago.

A YouTube user named Jester managed to capture not just the outcome of revealing the secret, but described the steps to discover it as well:

Within the video description, Jester explains:

In the Break Room on CH04’s Bridge, stand in the circle and enter the code below.

The Code is: M, S, M, M, S, M, S, M, M, M, M, S.

M = Melee S = Stomp

The fact that you get a payoff after inputting a code via furious arm swings and foot stomps just feels right, the jaunty rhythm of sea shanties feel right at home being summoned by way of personal percussion.

And what is a space ship if not simply a ship…in space? The ideal place to find this kind of magnificent musical reward.
