The First Gameplay Footage For The New Resident Evil 2 Looks Wonderfully Terrifying

Raccoon City has never looked this good…or scary

After being revealed during Sony’s E3 2018 presser with an incredible looking trailer, Capcom and Sony have today released a 13-minute gameplay video that showcases that horror that players can look forward to reliving on January 25, 2019.

The demo, which is being played by the game’s producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, starts with baby-faced Raccoon City Police Department rookie Leon Kennedy as he enters the eerily desolate RPD building and shows off the game’s new over-the-shoulder viewpoint. As with the original, Leon’s first day on the job descends into chaos rather quickly as explores the zombie-infested building. While it’s only a snippet of gameplay, the game is looking like everything fans wanted from the remake. Although, a Capcom representative emphasised a number of times that the game is not a remake but a new take on the 20-year old critically acclaimed survival horror title.

Resident Evil 2 will launch on January 25, 2019 for PS4, Xbox One and PC. Will you be reliving the horror? Let us know in the comments below.
