The First Yakuza 8 Details Have Emerged

Ichiban is back

Yakuza: Like A Dragon was a stepping stone for the Yakuza series. A notable departure from the typical beat ’em up style of gameplay, Like A Dragon changed many things. It has been over two years since Like A Dragon’s release and the first details on the follow-up title, Yakuza 8, have been brought to the surface.

Famitsu has been the one to grace us with these first details on the game, and they have included a video!

In this reveal, we learn that Yakuza 8’s story is nearing completion, and so we get to see three of the characters in Yakuza 8. Ichiban Kasuga returns from Like a Dragon and has decided to tie up his hair, Kochi Adachi is a police officer and familiar face from Like a Dragon, and Yu Nanba, who is Ichiban’s best friend.

On top of this, we learned that this game will take us to a new town!

While details regarding when we can expect the game remain unclear, it was cool to see what Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has been working on in the meantime.
