The Game Expo Is A Brand New Event Heading To Melbourne In 2023

Another event to add to the calendar

A new gaming and pop culture event called The Game Expo (TGX) has been announced and will be taking place in Melbourne on March 11 and 12, 2023.

A weekend-long gaming and pop culture celebration, The Game Expo will feature everything from eSports tournaments, cosplay, creator meet-ups, consoles set up with new games, tabletop games and more. The games on show will range from smaller indie devs right through to output from major publishers. The organisers are building the event around their three Cs of Creativity, Competition and Community, which gives you a good idea of what to expect from this new expo.

To make it easy to find the sections you’re interested in, the expo will be split into four colours representing a different aspect of the event. The coloured sections are:

  • Red – Tournaments – Community and Competitive. Esports, Console and PC Live tournaments, and stage events with prizes.
  • Yellow – Expo Hall – Tech and Gaming Brands. Explore new games and tech at exhibitor booths, try demos, and complete event quests.
  • Blue – Creative – Show your love of gaming. Meet your favourite streamers and content creators, witness amazing cosplay and live performances, and discover the talent of fantastic artists.
  • Green – Free-play – Everyone is welcome to play. There’s fun free-play all over the show, with special zones for console and PC play, as well as a dedicated tabletop gaming zone where you can learn to play from the free library of board and card games, join tournaments, and more.

The event will take place at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre from March 11 to 12. Tickets for the event are on sale now through The Game Expo website, with a weekend pass running you $70 or a day pass for Saturday or Sunday costing $40.
