Steam faced a slight catastrophe not long ago, giving players across the world access to the personal information in other people’s accounts.. Yep.
(Obviously keep an eye on email + transaction history for now if you are a Steam user and don’t be a dick if you saw another players information..)
It’s not clear how this happened yet, but it is quite the belly-flop of game related fails for the year.
The Great Steam Fail of 2015.
Various players across the world logged into their Steam clients today to find that their homepage displaying Russian or another random language. When they checked the “account info” section of Steam, the digital store showed them another user’s account, complete with e-mail addresses, buying history, and other private information. Merry Christmas!
UPDATE (4:30pm): Valve has shut down the Steam store, presumably until they fix this problem. (Source: Kotaku)
Although he has been gaming since the Sega Mega Drive launched in 1990, he still sucks at most games. When not being trash he watches French horror films, drinks herbal tea and secretly loves the music of Taylor Swift.
