After a great deal of speculation, the new voice actor for Mario and Luigi has been revealed to be Kevin Afghani.
Following the voice-acting retirement of long-time Mario, Luigi, Waluigi and Wario portrayer Charles Martinet, the internet has been waiting, theorising and arguing about who will fill the hat and overalls now that Charles has hung up his iconic pipes. Taking to X (Twitter), voice actor Kevin Afghani has put the discussion to bed by revealing that he’s lending his voice to the brothers in the upcoming platformer Super Mario Bros. Wonder.
Incredibly proud to have voiced Mario and Luigi in Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Thanks to Nintendo for inviting me into the Flower Kingdom!

Afghani is, for all intents and purposes, a bit of an unknown in the world of voice acting, with his major contributions being his portrayal of Raditz in Dragon Ball R&R and Arnold in Genshin Impact. While Mario and Luigi are more well-known for their wahoos than their long, exposition-filled monologues about the inner workings of the Mushroom Kingdom, the role is deeply beloved and the life that Martinet brought to the roles was immeasurable, so I don’t envy the pressure that Afghani must be feeling.
