We’re truly gearing up for the marketing blitz for the Five Nights At Freddy’s film, with a teaser trailer giving us a rapid taste of what the Blumhouse production is serving up.
In a rapid series of cuts, we establish all of the elements we’d expect from such an adaptation:
The pizzeria, a security guard – and animatronics that go bump in the night. Beyond the game-staples, we also see some worldbuilding in the way of an instructional video showcasing what the pizzeria was like in it’s heyday – and some exterior shots of creepy children being well, creepy.
Given that Matthew Lillard (Scream, Scooby-Doo) has signed on for a three film deal, we can also imagine that this movie will need to establish a wider FNAF world to explore beyond it’s initial narrative. Will Josh Hutcherson survive his nightshift at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria? We’ll find out more when the film releases it’s full length trailer – otherwise, October is waiting for us all.
