The Super Mario Bros. Movie Has Blasted Past $1 Billion Globally

As Luigi said, it’s cinema

Surprising not a single soul, The Super Mario Bros. Movie has absolutely rocketed to the top of the cinema charts – with this weekend seeing it stack it’s 1 billionth golden coin.

This easily cements the film as the biggest film of 2023, with it working to crush a whole swathe of animated film records – not to mention it’s shiny new crown as the highest-grossing video game adaptation of all time.

In the meantime, if you are tired of eating cinema popcorn you can always look forward to the release of the movie on physical media on July 5 – then you can finally pause the sucker and go looking for easter eggs!
