Game Worlds is an exhibition that lets visitors experience the world of video games in a way that playing on your couch or gaming chair doesn’t allow, thanks to a bunch of original design materials, concept art, rare objects, and more than 44 opportunities to play games. Some of the games featured are World of Warcraft, The Sims, Final Fantasy XIV Online, Stardew Valley, Celeste and Aussie-made title Isopod. Developer talks will also take place, as well as other industry events, and late-night access is available so that your evening plans are sorted.
Co-Curators Bethan Johnson and Jini Maxwell said: “By charting over 50 years of technical innovation and personal creativity, Game Worlds offers a new perspective on videogames, revealing the abstract, even absurd, foundation of technical innovation that underpins the world’s most popular entertainment medium, and celebrating the communities that form within them.”
