I like giant robots, and the Titanfall series is one that has absolutely nailed that aesthetic.
A huge part of this is some key direction from the very talented Steve Fukuda, with the reveal that his current plate involves coming up with a new, original IP.
In an interview with Axios, EA executive Vince Zampella commented on the lack of a sequel to Titanfall 2, mentioning that Steve “is leading a “very small, skunkworks team at Respawn” to find something new.

For some, hearing that nothing is secretly cooking along may come with equal parts disappointment and comfort. Disappointment that a grand reveal wasn’t ready to drop at any second – but comfort that you aren’t missing anything. The Titanfall universe is far from dead, considering that the battle royale Apex Legends exists and thrives in that space.
It’s curious to note that the project being looked at by Fukuda is not outright confirmed to exist out side of the Titanfall IP. The comment is that they are seeing something new – but not necessarily entirely separate. In the same way that Apex Legends has opened a new chapter in that crazy world, perhaps a new and exciting game could do the same; growing further love for a prospective third Titanfall title.
Whatever the outcome, the talent of Steve Fukuda is hard to ignore – we may be in for a banger!
