Xbox Wants To Release At Least One First-Party Game Every Quarter

Let the games do the talking

Overnight, Xbox revealed a ton of information regarding their business strategy and what the future holds for the Xbox brand, its studios, games and services via a post on the Xbox Wire.

One of the biggest takeaways is that Xbox is aiming to release one first-party game every quarter.

“With more than 23 studios worldwide creating games for Xbox, our goal is to release at least one new, first party game into Game Pass every quarter. Role playing games, shooters, strategy titles, adventure games, and more are all being built by our first party teams to ensure that there is a steady stream of compelling exclusive content to explore.”

No details were shared on when this might begin, but given the struggles Xbox has had with first-party games in recent times, it’s good to hear that Xbox has ambitious plans for its studios and IPs.

I suspect we’ll get a look at what the future holds when Xbox and Bethesda join forces for a 90-minute E3 presentation on Monday morning at 3am AEST, with games such as Halo Infinite, Psychonauts 2 and Hellblade 2 likely to appear.
