Apex Legends Mobile Is Being Shut Down Permanently In May

Sad news

Respawn Entertainment has announced that Apex Legends Mobile is shutting down on May 2.

The announcement came in the form of a statement posted to the Respawn Twitter account, accompanied by a short blog post and Q&A on the Apex website. According to the statement, the decision to shut the game down just over a year after its release is because post-release content drops had “begun to fall short of that bar for quality, quantity, and cadence.”

Beginning today, all in-game purchases will be disabled as part of a 90-day sunsetting period that will culminate with the game’s servers being closed at 11am on May 2.

While the game has seen numerous delays to its content pipeline, Apex Legends Mobile has been recently well-received, with its launch in March of 2022 seeing a huge number of downloads. Those who made in-game purchases via the Apple App Store and Google Play Store will not be entitled to a refund, so use up those Apex Coins while you can.
