Overwatch 2’s Fantastic Flower Fellow Is Already Scheduled For A Rework

He’s barely been out a month!

It seems our good friend Lifeweaver just can’t seem to catch a break, as the newest support hero to land in Overwatch 2 has received his very own blog post from Aaron Keller – the Lead Director of the game.

These blog posts usually address things that have become alarming to both the devs and the community – and with Lifeweaver settling into the rhythm of Overwatch gameplay (and finally gracing the competitive scene) there appears to be some data that is problematic at a glance.

Of course, Lifeweaver has already received some generous tweaking in his infant stage of release – with a heavily updated control scheme and some slight number tweaks to make sure his healing and damage outputs were serviceable; both rolled out immediately after his release.

The blog post dives a little deeper into the data that has been collected for the powerful, flower-full man – highlighting some stats that suggest he has ended up with one of the highest healing outputs in the game, alongside an impressively low death rate. Simply put? The guy heals like a champ and rarely dies.

Aaron mentions that on paper, this could be considered a good thing – but in the grander scope of Overwatch, there is a commitment to making sure each hero has an incentive be picked, so stats like these could be a concern. So that lands Lifeweaver on the board to be looked at, and to make sure that he isn’t overtly strong in every situation. Buffs? Nerfs? Nay, balancing is the order of the day – with an expected rollout date of Season 5.

As always the entire blog post is a fascinating and very transparent share of the developers thoughts, making it a brilliant read if you care about the nitty gritty of Overwatch 2.
