It’s been less than a week since Overwatch 2 welcomed it’s beautiful flower boy, Lifeweaver, and his kit of curious and concerning abilities. And in that time frame, we already had word that changes will be coming.
Well, those changes have been fast-tracked, because boy howdy they are coming next week:
This will become the new default, with options to use the old style.
Details on coming balance changes for Lifeweaver will be posted later this week by our lead hero designer – @GW_Alec (2/2)

Really this should come as a massive life-line to the console players of Overwatch 2, who were the most vocal about the bloat of inputs needed to pull off even generic manoeuvres. In a surprising twist, Aaron Keller does note that the old control scheme will still be available as a toggled option for those that relish the frenetic finger festival that Lifeweaver offered.
There is also a stinger at the end of these tweets, mentioning “coming balance changes” for our fragrant lad – meaning that beyond his inputs, he may well be getting some tweaks. Perhaps the most vocal feedback people have offered for Lifeweaver is the mechanic that his movement is slowed when charging his primary healing weapon – something that honestly feels pretty trash in game. Perhaps this might be a targeted change? All will be revealed when Lead Hero Designer Alex Dawson weighs in; right now the only mention is that balance changes are “still being considered.”
