A Massive Leak Of Supposed Grand Theft Auto 6 Footage Has Surfaced Online

Grand theft indeed

In what could be one of the biggest leaks the gaming industry has ever seen, a treasure trove of supposed footage for Grand Theft Auto 6 has been posted online.

Initially posted on the GTAForums by user teapotuberhacker, the leak features around 90 videos of in-development work. While it’s possible that these videos are fake, the sheer amount of videos and the quality of them does appear to suggest that they are legit. Some videos are only a few seconds long showing off walking or swimming mechanics, while some feature gameplay.

The most revealing video sees two characters, apparently named Lucia and Jason, robbing a diner while a timer until cops are dispatched countdowns. Once the police arrive, the pair make off with one of their cars and are asked to “Lose the cops.” Rumoured GTA 6 info from July suggested that the game would feature a female protagonist in a story that was inspired by Bonnie and Clyde. This video does a lot to back up those rumours.

Another notable video sees characters engaging in conversation, and while it’s only short, the voice-acting, which is great, and dialogue all scream GTA. A further video shows the character Jason strolling through a strip club.

It’s worth noting that even if these leaks are real (and a lot of signs point to they are), the footage on display is from different build dates, so temper your expectations if you do go digging through the footage. If you want to view the leaks in its entirety, Part One can be found here, while Part Two can be found here.

It’ll be interesting to see how Rockstar responds and if the takedowns begin. If they do, we know that teapotuberhacker may not have been pulling our leg and the leaks were real.
