An official update from the AFL Twitter account today has announced that the release of AFL 23 has been changed due to physical stock not arriving within Australia.
The tweet details that in the interest of equity and fairness, a new date has been set for May 4:
Initially AFL 23 was to release on April 13 across PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC, but has obviously been hampered by logistics in physically getting copies to retailers. The circumstances surrounding this is unknown, but given I haven’t heard of any shipping vessels getting stuck in the Suez Canal recently, I can only imagine the situation is fairly mundane.
Some commented that digital stores should be allowed to pick up the slack, but given the mention of equity and fairness – and a fairly robust understanding of consumer regulations – this absolutely will not be the case.
Are you excited for AFL 23? Okay with waiting a little longer? Let us know in the comments or on social media.
