The AFL and Tru Blu Entertainment has today announced that a follow-up to 2017’s AFL Evolution will be releasing in 2019. Titled AFL Evolution 2, the game will be releasing for PS4, Xbox One and PC. Now that’s special.
Wicked Witch Software has been contracted for another season of development, with works already underway on the sequel by the Melbourne-based team. It has been confirmed that the AFL, AFLW, VFL, SANFL, WAFL, NEAFL and TAC Cup competitions will feature in the title, alongside new stadiums such as Ballarat’s MARS Stadium, TIO Traeger Park in Alice Springs and Hobart’s Blundstone Arena being added to the venue roster.
Anthony Hudson and Garry Lyon will take over commentating duties from Dennis Cometti and Matthew Richardson.
AFL General Manager Commercial Kylie Rogers has this to say about AFL Evolution 2’s announcement:
AFL Evolution 2 will build upon the success of its predecessor, giving footy fans an enhanced AFL video game experience when it’s released in the first half of 2019. Digital platforms give our fans another way to deepen their engagement with the game alongside their involvement in playing, watching or officiating.
Tru Blu Entertainment and Wicked Witch Software have worked tirelessly over the past three and a half years to put in place a great foundation for future video game releases.
