This evening, developer Wicked Witch Software and publisher Tru Blu Entertainment have released the official trailer for their highly-anticipated AFL video game adaptation, AFL Evolution.
The trailer, which is created with in-game footage, shows off plenty of players kicking snags (goals), a ton of screamers, big hits, lace-out deliveries, inspirational speeches and even a Dusty Martin trademark don’t argue (fend off for the people in the unknown).
Although this is only a brief look, the game’s visuals look a lot better than the previous iterations, especially the player’s faces – which were captured using with 24 cameras being used simultaneously to photograph the players in order to recreate the most realistic-looking players yet. Furthermore, the kicking animations and the crowd look rather impressive, which is a good sign.
In the trailer, we get a glimpse of how the goalkicking will work. I managed to capture a sneaky screenshot (which you can see below), and we can see that Adelaide’s mercurial forward Eddie Betts can kick a goal by utilising the left and right thumbsticks.
Earlier today the game’s player and team ratings were released, which included some interesting ratings. You can check them out here.
Otherwise, feast your eyes on the game’s official trailer below:
AFL Evolution will be available for PS4 and Xbox One on May 5, 2017, with a PC release to follow later.
What do you make of the trailer? Let us know in the comments.
