Xbox has announced that a Developer_Direct showcase will take place on January 26 at 5am AEDT.
As detailed in an Xbox Wire blog post, the January 2025 Developer_Direct will feature four segments: South of Midnight, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Doom: The Dark Ages, and “another studio’s brand new game.”
The Developer Directs work a little differently, wherein we hear from the developers themselves, who usually talk about the project and give us a little sneak peek at development and a trailer. With that said, we will hear from Compulsion Games, Sandfall Interactive, and id Software, respectively, but who will fill in that fourth spot, and what game will it be? The blog post doesn’t exactly give us much to work with, however, it does mention that the games shown off here will be “anticipated games coming to Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Game Pass players this year.”
The wording of “this year” could be in relation to the three announced participants, with the surprise being a first look at a far-off release, or it could match the others and be slated for this year. We will have to wait and find out.
