Queensland-developed arcade shooter Damsel is quite a good game, as I laid out in my review of it last year, ‘blending fast-paced movement and twitch reflexes for the kind of second-by-second gameplay that only a 2D shooter can do.’ Developer Screwtape Studios have a long development history – you can read about it here – and it absolutely shows in Damsel’s tight gameplay.
This week, the game found its way onto two new platforms: Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. While I’d personally prefer the twitch-enabling computer mouse to play it, those without such snobby standards can now play it at home or on the move. Damsel is also available on PC through Steam.
