Aussie Space Sim Jumplight Odyssey Hits Early Access On August 21

Voltan Strikes!

Melbourne-based developer League of Geeks has today announced its space colony sim game Jumplight Odyssey will be hitting Steam Early Access on August 21. After a massively successful run during Steam’s Next Fest demo drop, the game will be soft-launching on the platform next month and marks the first of two hotly anticipated releases from the studio, the other being Solium Infernum, a strategy title set in Hell itself. Clearly no strangers to aesthetically compelling and ambitious titles, Jumplight Odyssey captured wide attention with its 1970s anime-inspired looks and deep sim systems that will allow players a high level of control over an intergalactic ship seeking a new home in the stars.

To celebrate the news, League of Geeks dropped a new trailer for the game, which you can check out below.

It’s hard not to be excited about this one. A homegrown beauty that immediately reminds me of a stylistic clash between Mobile Suit Gundam and Battlestar Galactica, Jumplight Odyssey ticks an absurd number of boxes. Placed in charge of a ship on the run from Admiral Voltan and his cohort of Zutopans, you’ll need to balance resource management, your crew’s health and happiness, and define your own style of leadership alongside Princess Euphora, commander of the SDF Catalina.

While there are plans to bring Jumplight Odyssey to consoles, you can wishlist the game now on Steam.
